Pat Richards to Catalan

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Is there anything you like like at the club or is it that you just like 'fishing' ?
Is what he said incorrect? Do you agree or disagree with his opinion?

How about, for a change, you give this childish and pathetic attacking of the poster a rest and either offer a different opinion on the topic or just simply keep quiet if you have nothing to add to the debate?

It probably has in the sense it would not surprise me if Pat fancies a go at living in France.

He took the opportunity his sporting skills afforded him to come to the UK and sample life outside Oz when he was at the height of his NRL career having just played a significant part in his clubs GF win. So could have quite easily have stayed at home but chose not to.

Always respected Pat for this. As we have just seen with Sam T it's not always so simple to up sticks and move to a new country. Pat did it with his eyes wide open as a part of a plan to see more of the world.

As a player I think the boat has far from sailed. He might be 33 be he is still a top player playing 1st grade NRL.

His goal kicking is fantastic and his immense dropouts are tactically superb pinning the opposition right back in their own half.

Before this rumour broke and when at the Salford game I was reminded of his dropouts and not in a good way. There was one from Smith that brought groans from the crowd it was so downright pathetic and I expect every person who was groaning was lamenting the lack of anyone who can do a decent drop out and thinking of Pat's.

I'd have him back without hesitation. He has no fitness issues I am aware of compared to Bowen for example and his dodgy knees.

Tomkins, Mossop & Thornley, have any of them set SL on fire since coming back? i think not, did these 3 players excel in Union and the NRL?, not really, is Pat performing well in the NRL? Yes, he would be worth bringing back for 1 last season imo he would add competition for spaces, his kicking would be invaluable and he could also work with Smith and one or two others on there kicking

if the price is right why not - great bloke could play him at centre with a fast youngster outside of him and he will provide FB and wing cover. France probs would appeal to him though - they make an international signing every season do they have different rules on signings than us?

In a way yes, Bird and Carney for example both VISA issues for a UK based team and not for the french based team

I've seen most of his games on premier sport this season and he neither shows a lack of pace nor his ability to kick goals from all parts of the field.Normally I would say no way do we want a thirty three year old in our ranks. But on the evidence I have seen he could still outplay some of our younger players. His positional play is simply fantastic.Bring him home.

would say it's probably more the weather and lifestyle of Southern France over grey Northern England, Canet Plage in the middle of August or rainy windswept Westhoughton lol

Yes I saw it.Seen all his games and he's still a gud un.Like I said before he's lost a bit of pace.I personally wouldn't sign him again, but meds is right that we have signed worse.Although I don't think we want him back we defo need a goal kicker next season.in some shape or form
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE
