If at the point of appointing a head coach he had been replaced all of you slateing the lad now would have been in uproar.
Saints didn't promote Dave Rotherham to head coach just because they sacked Millward. They appointed a new coach leaving Rotherham as assitant.
AH Dave, you know they couldn't (and still can't) bring in a new head coach because of the Mike Gregory situation. There was little option but to let Denis do the job temporarily until Greg was better or a deal had been done. I believe we are still in this situation (but I don't know as IANAL).
I would have thought even bringing in a new !Fottball Manager" or something would be on dodgy ground with the union as any post like this could be seen to be taking away responsibilities from the head coach job that Gregory still holds. I imagine the players union would have a bit to say about that and the publicity wouldn't be good for the club.

But Betts is clearly seen as head coach and there isn't anything "temporary" about his appointment if you see what I mean. The club brought Farrar in post Mike Greg being ill and I know they had to jump through hoops to get that okay'ed but they did.

It was the players umion that had to be brought on-side to get Farrar.
They were in the end.

sack dennis betts and bring millward in as the new assistant coach! until the saga with mike greg can be sorted out. wigan cant afford to mess around anymore. our current form is religation standard and new ideas must be injected to bring us back on track.i like dennis betts but i like wigan warriors better and for the good of the club he has to go!sorry dennis but business is business.
