Id say the most likely change and one that could have enabled is to win was Gelling for Gildart.
Gelling was unfit and out of form.

He is also just poor and rarely does anything against the better sides except get found out. What people see in him I have no idea.
His tries, assists, offloads, running power.

Does it even come down to his intelligence as a player as well as his ability?

Does he just not see what other players see and not anticipate and think ahead to "what could happen if I put a bomb up."

I said before the match I would have had Gelling on the bench at the expense of Patrick he would have covered the backs and forwards and although I agree he's made some questionable decisions he's possibly one of the few players who would have tried something different in the last 15 minutes as we created virtually nothing after going behind

Maybe he wouldn't have. Maybe he is so scared to be creative and take a risk and ask questions it is going to be coached out of him completely.

I'd really love somebody to explain this Wigan Standard that fans seem to rattle on about all the time, is a standard set out by the club? if so is there a link to it?, when was this Standard created? was it in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's or over the last 15 year?, does it differ from fan to fan?, Is it a real thing or is it just something that is brought out when fans don't like certain players, and BTW i am not having a dig at anyone :D

I would say based on our history along with the 2010-2011 precedent set. Madge achieved a lot, left a good benchmark for Wane so I like to base the standards I believe Wigan should achieve on that, as well as the current squad and state of the League.

I genuinely believe we should be top 2 every year in the League, GF and CC but actually winning trophies and playing entertaining rugby.

Surely it should be based on the current form of the team at the time the statement was made and not based on the Glory Years from 20+ years ago
