Problem lies in the oil USA nor its allies will give it up and have attempted to destabilise the area and force regime change and it failed on more than one occasion and that country then went into a 3 sided civil war.
This would need an UN mandate but will never happen and needs us to allow those countries to run their own governments and not have a puppet installed as happened in Iraq and Afghanistan.
I agree it needs radical steps but will not happen because of certain interests in those areas. NATO have done nothing to stop ISIS I would say they have actually let them grow especially in Syria. Now Russia are involved we take an interest. Makes you wonder if they could have killed this nutter if they wanted to sooner. Cameron was the biggest European voice in going into Syria to take out Assad. Whilst he is a monster what we have let out of the bag is a lot more dangerous to the world

He has never said he couldn't see the point of the army. I'd get any secret forces out a raise Raqqa and Mosul to the ground. If it is to be believed all the civilians have done a runner from those towns.
