You're wrong. Reliable source tells me Wigan have offered a much improved deal and the source (who is very close to him) expects him to sign.

The only place Williams will go is Australia if he doesn't sign a new contract with Wigan. Souths have shown interest in him for 2018. This comes from a reliable source who is a fellow England player whilst on international duty.

Wire have conveniently made up Williams seniors role at the club to a more senior one (u16's coach apparently) As for tapping up it happens every season & nothing is ever done about it!!!

So what you are saying all IL needs to do is sign Williams senior as a coach job done. Thought Williams was over 16 well you never know do you with these kids.

To me,and i say this purely as an average fan but the NRL is the natural fit for Williams if and when the time comes to move on.

I suspect if he and Bateman have a half decent world cup then they'll be off down under.no this Williams to wire move is nothing more than forum talk.

Peter Williams used to be an academy coach at Wigan, & was very successful I may add! He was let go along with Darren Fletcher who was also a very successful academy coach. Both won several trophys for the U18's & U20's!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I think we should be careful as supporters
Under 20's Coach Darren Fletcher has left the Club by mutual consent. A change in structure and a full time teaching role has meant Darren was unable to continue in the role due to work commitments.
Speaking about the news, Chairman Ian Lenagan said:

"We are disappointed to be losing Darren and thank him for the hard work he has put with the Under 20's over the last couple of years. We wish him all the best for the future.

"After discussions with new Head Coach Shaun Wane, the Club have decided to make some changes to the Reserve and Academy backroom staff for the forthcoming season.

"John Winder, our Head of Youth Development will continue to oversee all aspects of Youth and Player Performance across the Club and will also take charge of the Under 20's side. John is an excellent Coach and will be assisted by Peter Williams who steps up from his role as the Under 18's Head Coach.

"Matty Peet will take over the responsibility of the Club's Academy side and will be assisted by Paul Deacon who will also have some specialist work with the Club's halfbacks and kickers.
In Shaun Wane we trust!

Peter Williams
Whitehaven coach James Coyle says he is in no rush to appoint a new assistant following the departure of Peter Williams.

Coyle had known for a while that Williams was finding it difficult juggling his rugby commitments at Whitehaven, the development of his own construction business.

Williams, a family friend brought in after Coyle took on the Whitehaven job, was not at either of the last two games when both Swinton and Sheffield were defeated.

Coyle said: “I had no hesitation in asking Peter to join me at Whitehaven. I have known him for a long time and he was helping out at Wigan St Patrick’s where I had played before turning pro.

"He’d had some great experience working at Wigan and he was a perfect man to bring in. I’d like to think we complimented each other in the way we did our coaching as I believe we both have different strengths.

"To that degree it was a good partnership and I know I’ve learnt off him and I’d like to think he’s learnt off me. We both are on the same wavelength when it comes to rugby league and see the game, and how we want to play, in a similar way.
