Very true. He might not beat a player with a step but his support play is second to none. Wasn't he top try scorer a couple of seasons back? Not bad for "poor" attacking full back.

Yer, he's also the top try scorer in the history of SL.

Now's the time to get reardon! Briscoe is contracted until 07 there is no way john kear is going to let him go before then and i doubt even then he'll let him go. I think Rads is probably the best defensive fullback in the game, he might not run the length of the field to score tries every match but he prevents them, thats what we miss when he's gone, it'll be a shame to let him go but wigan can't afford to let him stay should he want more wages and i can;t imagine they'd be able to offer him anything like union can.

There is no suggestion he wants more wages from Wigan and while I dare say its true EU can offer him more money than now just how much more? He is supposed to be earning a fortune here.

In any case he is contracted to us so I'll say it again, the club should simply ask him to honour his commitment. They have been good enough to give him a testimonial so why not?

A mate of mine is a Saints fan (i know I know) and before any Saints / Wigan game he always says its Rads that they fear - look at his record against them and they r the benchmark after all. He won the cup final v them at Murry/d single handed after a horrific foot injury - this guy is one of the best, has been and still is. Looking at the Lions in NZ he would walk into that test team as a centre or even stand off. Too big a gap to fill.

Lets all be realistic he didnt look happy at the club in the post match interviews in the post Farrell games. We should not stop him if it is his wish to go but people on this website who are detracting from his performance need a reality check the only serious replacement is Wellens but he is STS through and through. Lets get behind him if he does play again and use a bit of supporters power to try and pursuade him.

In buying a fullback i would look primarily for defence. When rads plays its very safe, but i'd rather have a very safe and brilliant defensive fullback then a good attacker and average defense at fullback.

But can anyone see any real replacements? The youngsters coming up don't seem to have the natural talent for fullback. I know we have filled our quota and everything else for an overseas player. but if we hadn't what fullback could we have potentially gotten? Im not to up on my overseas players and availability. I would like Minechello :P but thats unrealistic...right?

Most probably it is unrealistic but he is the best Full back. Defence he is superb but going forward his support play is the best ive seen.

We will sign him when he is 30 with a serious injury. Thats our style.

He's a professional, losing the captaincy shouldn't affect his playing.
