Faz walked out on his contract and has left us in the sticky stuff. He would have been playing regularly now and a playoff place would have been a lot closer than it is at the moment

I think Carney wants to leave because of all the injuries that he has picked up.

Wigan signed him knowing that he wanted to go to the NRL and i'm sure that Carney was happy to stay at Wigan for the full term of his contract.

His recent injuries have changed all that:
Wigan don't want a player who keeps getting injured especially when alot of other players seem to get injured

Carney him self wants to play in the NRL, basically it's his live long dream but it could go badly wrong for him and hw knows it another injury might end is career in Rugby League.

So Carney could play another year for Wigan get injured and never play again or he could play for an NRL team get injured and never play again but atleast he would have played some Rugby in the NRL.

Imagen if you played for a Rugby League team and you were told that Wigan wanted to sign you but you had had some injuries and were worried about how long you have left playing. Wouldn't you leave even if you were under contract just so you could play for Wigan?

We shouldn't be annoyed at Carney he's played well for us (when he's played) but after all he's only human like us.

Im glad actually i wanted him to go when he first said he was going to see out his contract. He is too injury prone and it will free up money under the salary cap.

He doesnt want to play so i think we cut out losses and let him go

What do you mean? If everytime a player got a serious injury we got rid we would not have had Farrell last season and Radlinski would have left last week.

Dallas wold have gone about two seasons ago as well!

You have to assume players will get over their injuries and play for you again given the fact you can't just rip up their contracts.

And he could walk under a bus tomorrow. That is life. He has made a commitment to Wigan and he should get on with the job.

Are Wigan supposed to wrap him cotton wool so he can have a pop at the NRL? He is being paid to do a job and if he doesn't do it we are yet another player down who we expected to have available for 2006.

Do you think the club can rustle up a replacement just like that? They will be planning one for 2007 but the idea Wigan is some sort of kindergarden for players with ambitions elsewhere is nuts.

Don't be so flippin' stupid. This is real life not Roy of the Rovers (wrong sport but you get my drift hopefully). He can't just "leave". Wigan have to release him form his contract.

Why should they do that? If Newcastle want him while under contract they should pay a fee. The snag with that is I don't think there is an international agreement regarding transfer fees so we get nothing.

He has signed a contract for two years with Gold Coast in 2007 but wants to go and get the crap knocked out of him for another team in the NRL first rather than see out his career here?

He isn't even going to play for his team from 2007. Given his comments about wanting to play with Johns if I were CEO of Gold Coast or whatever they are called I'd be questioning his committment to that.

He has his wish to play in the NRL as of 2007. He should honour his contract until then, plain and simple.

Faz, though, left our sport, whereas BC is looking to test himself in league in Oz.That's a point in BC's favour for mine. We cannot expect loyalty from him - he wasn't a Wigan junior, he's Irish, and knows that time is not on his side.

As for his injuries, we just don't know how bad they have been - it might be the case that they have been bad, and taken their toll on him. We can't say for certain that isn't the case.

If we can replace him with someone younger and keener, let him go.

Well according to the Aussie on-line press he has indeed agreed to join Newcastle for a season and this has been announced by them.

Personally I think he should agree to leave the club now as there is no place in the team for players not interested in playing for it. Players like Richards in Australia are being totally professional about their last season in the NRL before coming here. Is Richards worried about getting crocked before coming here? No, he is giving his all as he should do. The same applies to Fletcher who is older than Carney and could miss out on his two year retirement fund if anything happened injury wise (aka Davico).

I have lost all respect for Carney due to him going public with various statemts about wantingto leave when the club is still not out of the woods yet.

This quote comes from the BBC web site where he refers to the town of Newcastle:

"The whole area supports the team," he said.

Well isn't that a slap in the face for all the supporters of Wigan one of the best supported teams in the game, who have stuck by him through his injuries.
