George Wiliams picked him out almost every time to run at and Smith nailed him. He made one mistake with the kick out on the full in very difficult conditions playing into a very strong wind, he did ok IMO.

Bar the kick out on the full I thought he did ok. I’m willing to give him a chance this season to see what he can do after playing all of last season apparently with an injury.

He played most of last season with what seemed a disorganized team. One I think we can all agree that was lacking go forward, any game plan and on top of that he played needing a shoulder op.
Today he came on amidst a bunch of changes where I thought our coaches just wanted to see people get a run out.
It's pre season maybe Warrington will be letting Williams and Widdop go to replace him with as I didn't see either of those do much more than Smith either?

Widdop was unbelievably quiet and Williams was Williams, some dangerous flashes mixed with some headless chicken stuff.

Williams was garbage, I’m sorry I don’t know why some folk rate him.

He’s a player who when it gets a bit tough, leaves his teammates to do the tough stuff and must be difficult to coach or get a reaction out of unless you are forceful with him, if your not you get that type of performance.

Smith I feel is not quite good enough and if the club had faith Tommy would of been retired with the club’s blessing or certainly gently pursuaded anyway. I feel he’s a weak link atm despite him putting on a little bit of beef, regular games in the Championship would do him the world of good.

Smiths potential is there, he’s so highly rated by the club, but he needs consistent game time to improve and he’s not going to get that this season. Especially when you think Zak and Bevan (potentially) are still to fit into this squad. Im hoping I'm wrong but Ive a sneaky feeling KPP playing Centre is because Zak is going to be playing fullback, with two of Field/Cust/Tommy in the halves & Bevan not returning. Even if Bevan does return id say he plays Fullback, that then pushes field towards the halves and in my opinion ahead of harry in the pecking order

Big season ahead that's for sure
Why is time running out? He is only a young guy.

Our pack was far better than Wire and that makes a big difference for halfbacks.

Just turned 22.

He’s young but not that young.

All the players around his age though have had their development impacted by lack of reserves across last 2 years.

Players are hitting maturity at a later stage in super league nowadays. (Obvious exceptions to the rule though).

Smiths kicks out on the full are becoming a habit though.

Because quite simply he's been a regular first team player for 2 years now and he hasn't pushed on at all, when I watched at academy level I thought he would make the step up and the club would struggle to keep him out of the clutches of the NRL that's how highly I rated him but I've seen little to nothing of that form.

Now how much of that is down to Lam and Hastings who dominated everything while he was here I don't know he has potential that's for sure but so ha e plenty of others who certainly ly never ayed as often as he has,so for me yes the clocks ticking as it should be for ALL players no one should be above critism.
