WIGAN ATHLETIC have sacrificed their usual primetime kick-off slot for Wigan Warriorsโ World Club Challenge clash against Penrith Panthers.
The World Club Challenge will take place on Saturday 24 February with an 8pm kick-off, with Australian fans able to watch the fixture at 7am their time.
However, Wigan Athleticโs League One clash against Cheltenham Town was scheduled for the same day with a 3pm kick-off.
That being said, Athleticโs fixture against Town will now take place on Friday 23 February โ a day earlier โ with a kick-off time of 7.45pm.
Athletic posted on X: โOur home fixture against Cheltenham Town has been brought forward to Friday 23 February 2024 (kick-off 7:45pm).
โThis is due to the Rugby League World Club Challenge being scheduled to take place at the DW on Saturday 24 February.โ
Itโs great news for the Warriors, with new owner Mike Danson also owning Athletic as the two clubs look to enhance their relationship off the field.

It says World Club Challenge 2023. Whoever faked it didn't finish the job.

Can you quote that bit you are talking about please? because the only thing I can see in that report mentioning 2023 is;
The only previous meeting of the respective 2023 champions of the Betfred Super League and the NRL Telstra Premiership came 32 years ago at Anfield, when the former All Black Frano Botica starred in a 21-4 Wigan win.
Thank you

It says "Nathan Clearly on the 2023 World Club Challenge."
The quote initially refers to the Saints match, which was in 2023, but goes on to the just announced game v Wigan for 2024.
I don't see any significance in the date quoted.

Will highlight it in the open post regarding this game please as Iโve read it several times & have not seen any of your post mentioned.
I must be going slightly mad
