WOLVESWarrington Wolves swoop to sign captain of Super League rivals

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

I was very sceptical of the move for Burgess but hey im happy to say at the moment I got that well wrong, hes clearly reaping the benefit of happy harry Powell clear out of the dead wood and has allowed him a pretty solid start to life as a coach.
Reckon it's a question of how long Sam Burgess can keep his sensible head on.
He's very capable but if a crash comes, everything else goes with it.

Didn’t say he was but they do like to take players from other teams.
So do we, Dupree, Walters etc.
You can't blame a team for building their squad.
At least we, Wigan Warriors, do have decent academy teams where a large majority are promoted to the first team!
Currently only two Academy products in the backs though at present. Just saying :)

Fourteen players in a first team squad of 30 have all come through our academy.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Why are you obsessed with the backs? The player in question is a forward!! We are talking about academy players in the first team!

Just making a point that it's not only Warrington who buy players in from other clubs, all teams do it, including us and sometimes to the detriment of Academy players who then move on to other clubs.

Which - checks calculator - means more than half of Wigan’s first team squad have seemingly come from other clubs.

All clubs target others’ players. If Warrington are vultures, RL must be a flock.

Add in quota players, those places are open to all clubs.
