He has become quite adept at providing passes for the opposition to score, as last week's game.

Newman has been a beneficiary of our wayward passes in the past.
He'll be on the look out again this week and no doubt be part of the Leeds prep.

Be prepared for the Leeds tactic of their forwards moving yards offside when they tactically kick; giving the receiver 10 metres and then pinning us near to our line.
It's legal but typically cynical from Leeds under their coach.
Also, expect Bentley to target Smith (and everyone else) but mostly Smith as he brings his specialised thuggery to Wigan.

we just need to be squeaky clean in terms of biting when Bentley is trying to get under our skins. He did it last time, and we lost smith for 3 games. We need to target him, and just keep hitting him, and he'll buckle and get himself sent off

as fans probably feel we owe Leeds one for the last game but Matty will have the players focussed on performing, and hopefully not getting drawn into the wind up tactics

Hasn't every team been doing this for decades? I',m not sure it counts as cynical, its just the rules.

Also part of our prep will be looking how to exploit his eagerness to get out the line to intercept surely. Could create that extra bit of space if he does it a couple of times and we can identify it

I haven't actually noticed us do it to the level that we saw last week against KR. They were consistently offside, especially in the first half. The referee and tjs didn't seem to think so though. We seem to get pinged more than most teams for offside yet I don't think we do it anywhere near as much as others

I'm pretty sure the whole team is in front of Smith every time he kicks it for distance aren't they?

We could do this:

It'd need the touchies to be on top of their jobs, though.
