If faz isnt 100% then play walters. If he is then maybe start him but play walters on the bench.Remember havard last time?
Havard was coming back from a serious injury, Farrell is just ill… you can’t compare the two.
Byrne will get the nod ahead of Walters. Why would Pete all of a sudden switch his tactics for a final? He isn’t going to move Walters to prop as he hasn’t played there for us, nor is he going to run with an extra second row.
I think you are right Nathan, I can’t see Peet changing his tried and trusted methods at this stage in the season.

I don’t know why some are speculating this. It will be Matt Peet who selects the team no matter what any fans say who he should select

I agree Josie, Matt has already said Liam will play if he is fit.

The choice is between Bryne or Walters on the bench - assuming Faz is fit.
I think Walters offers better cover and less disruption to the team if we lose any forward or back.
Bryne has been playing more minutes recently though and not made a mistake or penalty as far as I can recollect for a while now. We're getting more from him now then earlier in the season and he's far more effective in what he does now.
But, I'm assuming Luke will play far more minutes in the final than he did in the semi and Havard always plays big minutes as does Ellis, so is 10-15 minutes of an effective but one dimensional prop better than a more versatile and potentially game changing bench spot in Walters?

If Faz is fit MP will pick Byrne and Walters will return to 18th man.
Question is will Faz be fit?

If you asked last year or the year before the answer is obvious
but lets face it Faz is definitely on the back end of his career now and has been "ok" this year, that said Walters looked his best in the last match and hasnt before that set the world alight
its between someone past his best and someone who's best is yet to come
i think given the size of the game Farrell this year - just

I really can't see Farrell playing. He won't be allowed anywhere near the players for fear of passing the virus on.

My understanding is that one of the reasons Walters wanted away from Leeds (and, yes, í know . . .) was that he sees himself as a 2nd row not a prop. Wigan will have been aware of this when they signed him, and, in any case, we were hardly in need of an extra prop.
As for Byrne (or Bryne), I know people have a right to state their opinion, so I'll add mine into the mix. The fact that Peet keeps picking him despite the number of posters who don't think he should, suggests that best coach in the league values what Byrne brings to the team. Part of our success is in wearing other teams down, or "winning the energy battle". Not everyone needs to bust tackles or make big numbers of metres or tackles to contribute.
Given a choice between Peet's decision and that of any fan, myself included, I'd go with MP. Not saying you all don't know what you're talking about, but just explaining my different viewpoint.
