This side of the Pennines we all had our spiritual home in Central Park, Willows, Hilton Park, etc. They had to go as there was no financial future in those places.

I personally would like to Bradford in SL with the proviso they have a modern stadium with up to date facilities.
Noble might be able to gather a squad capable of winning the Championship but there it will end I feel.

Good post Ted & rightly so. It’s a disgraceful ground nowadays. I remember Wigan playing Bradford at the football ground, 2001/2002 while they did "some improvements" at Odsal for the life of me I couldn’t see a difference when we went back there!

i've said all along, and certainly since the clamour for the Bulls to be back in SL in the IMG era, that i'd be happy to have them in on the basis, that they are sound financially (and ideally without the fat controller at the helm as its dodgy as hell with the RFL buying their ground and being involved in their board) , have an appropriate facility and earn their right to be there by playing their way through the league structure in place i.e. not fast tracked on sentiment from 20+ years ago

Bradford Bulls move for St Helens talent as Fijian becomes Brian Noble's latest target

The Bulls are closing in on another addition for 2025.

Bradford Bulls' spending spree could yet continue with the arrival of Waqa Blake. Rugby League Live understands the Bulls are chasing a deal for the Fijian following his release from St Helens to add further firepower to their outside backs.

Blake spent the 2024 campaign with Saints, scoring 11 tries in 24 appearances. His departure from Saints appeared to signal the end of his stint in the UK, but Love Rugby League reported last week that he had been made available to clubs once again heading into the coming season.

That has seen the Bulls make their move as Brian Noble looks to add further quality to his edges, having already secured a deal for Guy Armitage from Toulouse Olympique.

If Bradford land the 30-year-old, who is currently playing in the Pacific Championships for Fiji, it would guarantee an almighty battle for places in the team next year. As well as Armitage they have re-signed popular winger Jorge Taufua, while Jayden Okunbor has signed on a permanent deal from Hull FC.

At centre they have Kieran Gill and Jayden Myers, who scored 32 tries between them in 2024. It would leave Noble with selection headaches of the right kind if they can land Blake, who comes with an NRL pedigree. He has played 165 games in the NRL for Penrith and Parramatta, scoring 62 tries.

The Bulls are assembling quite the squad heading into the new season and are likely to be considered title favourites. Their signings include Leeds Rhinos forward James Donaldson and the Halifax duo of Joe Keyes and Matty Gee, while Franklin Pele has joined Okunbor in signing permanently for the Bulls next year.
