In a nut shell so to speak:average numbers only exist in an arithmetical Calculus. (Abstract concept). Next time you visit a RL game game count how many non cardinal numbered tackles you see. None. But most of you knew that anyway and as one of you commented it is close of season.

Median will give you a cardinal number if you're after one.
If you're after the most common number of tackles by each player use the mode.
