When it comes down to it, could any of us do any better? Saying that I will still be questioning the parentage of the refs throughout the season!
As long as they are as bad for both sides then so be it!

He's blind, he's deaf the scouser is a ref Steve Ganson, Steve Ganson
Re: REFEREE FOR CATALANS!
...because the ref starts on the halfway line with the players kicking off, Morley runs faster than Ganson (full time professional versus part time referee) and Ganson's view point was obscured by Morley's body. TJ on the other hand starts on the dead ball line and is running towards Morley and has less distance to travel.Fraggle posted:
Indeed, but why wasn't Ganson able to say straight away that it was the right decision, without needing help from above, so to speak? It was the first tackle of the game, on the player with the ball. If he wasn't watching that, what was he looking at??!!
Re: REFEREE FOR CATALANS!
Hmmm. It's been a few years so my memory is a little hazy of the incident but what you say sounds a bit plausible. What I'm a bit dubious about is where the TJ fits in, since most of the time they see even less than the referee (if things like forward passes is anything to go by) and many refs don't seem to bother consulting with the TJ's in any case. And Ganson does have a habit of either not being in a good position to see things (from watching Sky games he calls the video ref on a very regular basis saying he couldn't see) or getting in the way of the play, but that *could* be because the players move so fast than he's not able to respond. I'll give you this one, Rob, cos I can't remember the incident - I still think Ganson's a muppet though!robjoenz posted:...because the ref starts on the halfway line with the players kicking off, Morley runs faster than Ganson (full time professional versus part time referee) and Ganson's view point was obscured by Morley's body.
