As a comparison, check out Liam Rush's handing of a potentially difficult HKR v Cas match and watch Kendall and Thaler combine in the Cats v Hull match. Thaler's Video analysis of decisions referred to him was clear and perfectly explained and Kendall, like Rush, had control of the players throughout.
Any of these officials would have been better than what we had to put up with on Thursday.
Nice to see a female touch judge at HKR.

He didn’t referee in accordance to the rules of the game , if he is excused for following guidance given to him by people at an higher level then that is also wrong if the game’s rules are to be ignored what is the point of the rules if the rules are in the book apply them otherwise remove them or change them, for the majority of the game he did not referee the game he ignored the majority of offences that were being committed
this is not consistent and leads to confusion both for players and spectators alike.. This cannot be excused in order to keep the game flowing.

Kendall has become a fine referee in my opinion his handling last night of the hull game was a breath of fresh air shame mr Moore couldn’t have used the same amount of common sense shown by Kendal and Rush both games flowed compared to wigans game but hey ho let’s hope that is the worst Moore can be because we do need the refs as much as we need the players.

Just watched last 10 minutes of the HKR v Cas game. How does 2 games get reffed differently and why. Watched a video about 4-5 years ago regarding NFL ref accused cheating a team and why. Make it clear i am not accusing ref in SL of cheating. This i believe definitely happens in another sport played heavily in the World. The other game played on our hallowed turf.

Same incident same season different ruling given by the same refs team even when a team challenged the call decision went against that team all season. They work as a team in the NFL refs. Patriots were not getting the decisions some teams were getting by same ref teams. And it affected the regular season dramatically even some play offs games got closer than should. At the end the person explained all you need to fix a game is a the ref and video ref. And who loses out the most when one team dominates a sport.

NFL teams lost no money, players lost nothing neither did the refs. It basically accused tv broadcasters in technical match fixing due to ad revenue generated at Super Bowl time its billions to the NFL. They want a close season close play offs to generate better tv audience to increase the ad revenue as its the only way apart from subscription they can generate the money back they plow into a sport.

A part of me thinks that maybe just maybe SKY do not want us running away with it (would explain the game previous night football game) so dark arts come out and slows the game down. But in reality i think Moore who is a very good ref played it like a friendly and allowed a slow poor game from the go and both teams benefited from it.

To my mind the game was reffed like a grand final. The lack of penalties and wet restarts in the first half didn't feel that odd, but as the second half continued it definitely became clear the line for a penalty was very high. Felt like a playoff game which is great for the start or the season.

Wasn't the refs fault we lost, we had opportunities for tries and drop goals which we didn't take. Later in the season I'd expect us to win that fairly comfortably by taking our chances.

Agreed Mike. Been watching this game for a long time, and so far have always resisted the temptation to blame the referee for a loss. Including last Thursday night.

When the Captain's Challenge was called did the referees this weekend call "time off"?
Just asking as I missed it altogether.
