Disciplinary from Vegas
Re: Disciplinary from Vegas
It was accidental at the worst but let’s be fair this time last year Byrne would have Webb banned till October so common sense is prevailing it seems

Why is everything so complicatedjosie andrews wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 5:30 pmSorry, I should have put the complete listing.
Liam Byrne (Wigan Warriors) – Opposition: Warrington Wolves – Grade A Dangerous Contact – Not applicable – Penalty Points: 1 – Total Penalty Points: 1.

Maybe its one point for getting put on report, guilty or not!

Re: Disciplinary from Vegas
The heading of the table stated "Fine or ban", and his entry is "Not applicable" because he's not over 5 points. I believe all carry over points were dropped after complaints by clubs. So everyone started on a clean sheet this season.widdenoldboy wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:49 pmWhy is everything so complicatedjosie andrews wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 5:30 pmSorry, I should have put the complete listing.

Re: Disciplinary from Vegas
I’ve just read an article about the incident where Sam Burgess says that Firzgibbon couldn’t finish the game because of his "injury" from the "crusher tackle" from Byrne.
I’m going to watch the game again, a good excuse,
I’m sure he continued playing after that incident & I still say if he was so badly injured at the time why didn’t he go off the field for a HIA!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

That sounds reasonable, Mike, I'd like to understand what it means - the system isn't transparent (yet).Mike wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 10:56 pmThe heading of the table stated "Fine or ban", and his entry is "Not applicable" because he's not over 5 points. To complicate things the points table has a column - "Total Penalty Points are Total Points in previous 12 months."
I think it will become clearer when the details of each case are published (should be soon, last weeks are here https://www.rugby-league.com/governance ... nary-cases)
Ah, apologies - the further details are published only if fines/bans are levied I think.

And when he went off he was having treatment for his thigh and was holding his ribs.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 11:25 amHe did carry on playing for quite a while.josie andrews wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 7:57 am I’ve just read an article about the incident where Sam Burgess says that Firzgibbon couldn’t finish the game because of his "injury" from the "crusher tackle" from Byrne.

that'll be the force from the crusher tackle - Byrne crumpled him like a tin can, so his leg and ribs were buggered tooFlash wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 11:42 pmAnd when he went off he was having treatment for his thigh and was holding his ribs.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 11:25 amHe did carry on playing for quite a while.josie andrews wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 7:57 am I’ve just read an article about the incident where Sam Burgess says that Firzgibbon couldn’t finish the game because of his "injury" from the "crusher tackle" from Byrne.
