The news of Dougie's passing saddens me.
But it also brings to mind the tale of how, at Widnes's peak and his fondness of signing big names from union, there was reportedly a photo of Laughton behind the bar of every Welsh rugby union club, alongside the message: This man is barred!
RIP sir.
