It's just a typo Fraggle. It's very easy to type "Stacey Jones is" when you really mean "our performance was"!!
Ah, my mistake. Having seen 10 minutes of it on the Superleague Show, I'm not sure if I can bring myself to watch the rest when I get a copy of the video later in the week. Having said that, I've not seen any of our new players yet so it might aid with recognition (although from the radio commentary I'm not expecting to see much of Calderwood!)

Cue someone with more time than me writing a long list of Australians and Kiwis who have worn the Cherry and White shirt over the last 110 years...

I'm not (although linguistics and languages are an interest of mine) but I've read his message half a dozen times and can only make it read as "the shirt used to mean something to Wiganers, but now the team has lost to some barely amateur players, and Stacey Jones is garbage" because to remove the commas causes the whole sentence to make no sense at all (my interpreted version is below). Apologies if that's not what was meant, but I can only read what I see and if the meaning is ambiguous and people pick the wrong meaning then that's hardly our fault.
The shirt used to mean something to all us Wiganers. Now we have a team that is taking the money and running to conceed 38 points to a bunch of barely-amateur players, and Stacy Jones is just garbage

THE TANK is Wigan through and through but some of us need to take off the cherry and white tinted lenses and see what is really going on.

Don't you just love people that talk about themselves in the third person?

I don't actually disagree with the analysis of some of our players, but you're overreacting by suggesting that the opposition don't have an impact and that the problem is solely with Wigan. We don't have a divine right to win things, the competition is much more fierce than in the past and dismissing someone who has been recognised as one of the world's best players for several years is ridiculous. Jones may or may not be considered an all-time great, but of the current players in the world he's one of the best (and after all we can't play against Aussie and Kiwi greats of the past as they don't play anymore!). You'd think after 11 years of Superleague people would have begun to realise that the glory years of the 80's and 90's aren't going to happen again because the sport has changed.

Your quite right Fraggle re how it reads but Tommy meant to say "a bunch of barely amateurs plus Stacy Jones..."

I know, I managed to stop myself reading it as suggesting Stacey Jones is also an amateur, that would have been a bit too silly!
