But again this 'kerfuffle'could had been avoided if ML could for once in his life hold his water and not make announcements until the deal is done & dusted!
Maurice didn't name Noble initially, it was leaked by Bradford.

Yep, I forst thought we had another Gasnier situation but Bradford went public first and left him little options.
I do think he oculd have been a bit more diplomoatic though and not gone so far as to make it clear Noble was the no. 1 choice in case he didn't come. He oculd have said he was one of four candidates so as not to alienate the others.

Anyone else think this looks vaguely familiar, though...?
"We have told him that he will have all the support in the world, including time, to restructure the side and make Wigan competitive again."

I do hope St Nobby hasnt committed career suicide. I am going to send him a stab proof vest so that if he doesnt provide the required MIRACLE and save our necks in Superleague at least he wont die of the backstabbing from DW and ML

The only people to mention Edwards were the fans and media speculation. Not sure about Lam, though. Was there anything publically said by the club about him coming back in some capacity? I don't think him being head coach (at least, not without a Director of Rugby above him) was ever on the cards, but I do seem to remember him being the only other person Maurice actually named (as opposed to two top but nameless Aussie coaches who were also apparently in contention).
