But rugby league is not the biggest sport on the planet. I recommend you read Martyn whatsits column in this week's League Express. For once, he's talking a bit of sense about the game needing to publicise itself more. RL results barely get a mention outside the RL media. Something like a new Wigan club just wouldn't get noticed.

Oooooo-kay.

Maybe you need to start up a new version of RL, because if you limit it to the heartlands then don't be surprised if it loses all relevance in years to come. The sport needs money to survive, most money and therefore sponsors are in the south, Sky would not be interested in a sport that only interests a few thousand people around the M62, and sponsors would also not be interested in advertising to the same small group. All the RFU would need to do is dangle some of those very expensive carrots they've got, and all the best players are gone.

By expanding and retaining London we keep some credibility to the rest of the sporting world, and after all, we claim this is the Greatest Game - why should we deny that to people just because they live more than 10 miles from the M62?

I have never had any abuse for wearing my Cherry and White, but saying that there has been a HUGE rise in kids especially supporting Latics, obvioulsy due to their premiship campaign. Sadly, i remember not to many years ago when Latics GAVE away tickets in my school, GAVE them away :D

Im hoping we avoid relegation but if not I think Latics will be joining us in a lower league and be back in the championship before long, all their "decent" players seem to be abandoing ship, and as rich as he his, Whealan can never compete with the likes of Man U ad Chealea like he once said he'd like too.

We'll see how Latics cope with another year in the Premiship, but football fan friends of mine think their bubble is going to burst very soon.

Hopefully at at time when we are yet again dominating Super league :conf: Heres hoping
