I think you'll find that there is an oval ball game in Italy ( not league of course )with a strong following. My point being that our Wigan Rugby is not the mighty phenomenon that we like to believe and that the rest of the World will associate Wigan with football; more so than Rugby.

I think that you should examine your own comments before accusing other people of narrow mindedness. The world is full of great sports, of which Rugby League is just one, as is Rugby Union. However, if I want to stir controversy; I actually think that cycling is the toughest of all sports.
Ah, Wigan Wheelers; another great ambassador for our home town !

As a football fan I can testify that many foreigners do want to talk football. However, they mention Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. Just as we mention real, Barca to Spaniard or Milan, Juve to Italians.

Now if you go to a country where rugby league is popular then people mention Wigan.

That's the difference.

I like your posts straight to the point and honest. Come on the Wheelers.
I stick by what i said yesterday if the rules change to suit Wigan or any other team for that matter at the end of the season thats the end of rugby league for me. The rules have been changed in the past for other teams but that was before the season started and not when a team who is expected to do well has a bad season!!!

So Wigan were famous for soccer before they went into the Premiership? Must have missed that one.

Boxing, in my opinion is tougher than cycling, accepting though that cycling is much tougher than soccer, of course.
chess is toughter than football

I think you attitude is very sad and does not do anything to enhance our "friendly " image as Wigan Warrior fans; or indeed rugby fans.

It just plays straight into the hands of our Latics critics by creating a new stereotype Egg Chaser ( their words, not mine ).

I'm sorry guys, but I've decided this thread has had its day. This thread does not serve any purpose other than for some people to have a pop at non-RL associated teams. I'm afraid there's better places for that.

Cheers,
Rob
