Agreed really Dave, I liked Terry's character, his family used to live close to me and he was a great loyal Wigan lad.

However I think that is the past now and Higham is very dedicated and professional. I also think Newton isn't as good as he used to be.

We shall see but I feel we can't really cope with too many more changes this season anyway

I think Newton is a fantastic player his ball handling skills are great, however the temper issue is a big problem. But having said that i think you do need someone on your team who's a bit rough becuase it stops you getting bullied by other teams e.g the vinnie anderson vs tickle incident terry wouldn't of let anderson get away with that.

Having said that higham in my opinion at the moment is a league ahead of the rest of our team at the moment the only reason he isn't being hailed is because no-one is supporting his runs from dummy half making him look average. He will shine and i think he is a good proffesional. Terry has also put on a lot of weight by the look of it fitting far more to the bradford team.

I have never been a big Newton fan. I think he is a lazy player who plays when he feels like it and he is prone to give away penalties when things are not going well.

I reckon the only reason we played with two hookers at Wigan is because we needed to sub him to calm down at least once a game.

Had he been in this team this season since the end of his suspension, then he would have lost it more than once in my opinion.

We don't need a player of Newtons character adding to the penalty count which is bad enough as it is.

Higham is far more professional a player and gives 100% all the time. With Radlinski back to support his breaks we may even score a few tries.

Shipping Higham out now would be stupid. If we need a player from Bradford it is a centre.

Dave
Absolutely right.
I don't get half the people on this site. Higham and Godwin have been two of our best players up to now this season and yet there is still all this clamouring to bring Terry Newton back.Sure he's a good player, but hooker is the least of our problems at the moment.
For my money apart from the obvious stand off/centre deficiency, our priority is a prop that can cover the 30 minutes out of every 40 that Feka needs to rest. For some reason he's reached hero status on here, and I fail to see why. He's only twenty three for God's sake, and to get only 10-15 minutes per half out of him is just not good enough for super league. Compare that to the likes of Fielden and co., and it's a joke. All it does is put extra workload and pressure on the rest of the pack. Maybe he should try American football.

Because perhaps it hasn't been done...?

What a load of rubish Higham looks for gaps himself and does a lot of running from dummy-half. Yes Godwin does run aswell but he also puts props and sometimes backs through gaps

higham is very hard working and is my favourite player at the moment along with richards. he is very technical and alot of our trys come from his or godwin's plays. they both run from dummy half. they are 2 great hookers, if it aint broke.....dont fix it.
