And according to Dave Whelan, if Nobby wants others he'll get them!
I've heard a rumour from a good source (ie. invented by me!) that we'll be signing Jason Robinson, Andy Flintoff, Tim Henman and Martina Navratilova, to continue the current habit of somewhat incredible signings. Of these, Martina's the best bet although an initial interest in Amelie Mauresmo has cooled after the Wigan players complained she was far too butch to play RL and they were scared of her.
Fraggle, why are you always so sarcastic! You are so pessimistic about every opinion all the time! Only a couple of days ago you were laughing at people who had information that Fielden might sign for Wigan. You need to understand that Mr Whelan is a business man and will expect the best and has the money to pay for the best! Salary cap or not i think Wigan seem serious about buying world-class players at the moment, and i am sure someone as wise as Mr Whelan will not have any problems finding loop-holes in the cap!

Um, it was an attempt at humour, apologies for it obviously failing. I have always had the utmost confidence in Mr Whelan and his support for our team, and have said so many many times on here.
My point was more that we're bottom of the league, still somehow signing players like Barrett and Fielden, with Rads pretty unexpectedly coming back as well, and all of a sudden we've a stronger team than we had a month ago with players few would have expected us to sign. Despite all the rumours, and there are so many in this sport that I don't believe any of them until something is officially announced (remembering that we've been let down by Gasnier at the 11th hour, amongst other such things), who really would have expected us to line against Warrington with Rads and Fielden in the squad? So why not some other silly suggestions, there have been enough others over the last few months?
(fraggle will try to find an "I'm taking the p**s" emoticon for future messages...)

Heard from an ex player based in Leigh today that we have signed Newton for next season. He signed 3 weeks ago.
I cant tell you who it was although he is an ex saints player and we hated him

So it's bye bye Godwin next season. Bit of a shame really.

Not sures - Dobson, McAvoy, Sculthorpe (do we pay for him when he's on a long-term loan, or are Cas paying him?)
Cas will be paying him. As we will have been paying the likes of Jonkers etc who have been here on loan.

McAvoy will count on the 20/20 rule as far as I see it as we only got him on loan which we extended by another month recently. I would like to add though that I would like to still see him here next year has he as done nothing wrong and I have always liked him as a player.
AND
Seeing as were discussing other signings, and most of the players "linked" with us are Brafors players lets not go the whole hog and say "Lets have Vinakolo"

If we are getting another big signing, it's going to have to be a non quota player.
Terry Newton rumours still abound.
