We need a Gleeson now! Bailey is a powerful player, and we now need someone with genuine class, skill and pace in the other centre who can give his wing good service.

kirk yeamen is very tempting. he has had a belting season and would get great service next year with barrett coming.

Kirk Yeaman would be my first choice and then Martin Gleeson

This is just my opinion but i'd much rather keep goulding and gleeson than sign senior. I think he's past his best and to give him a one/two year deal to aid his retirement is stupid when we have the young talent waiting for their chance. I'd rather hand a two year deal to goulding/gleeson and see how they go. We've let too many youngsters go in the past to bring in a retiring player and it's not been the best option for us. As for bringing in a winger if richards stays then we have him and calderwood next season. He may not have had a storming season this year, but i think he can come into his own next year, with a quality centre inside him. I dont think vaealiki will still be here, so there is the case of filling in the centre spot but replacing vaealiki wont be difficult. The rumour that feather is coming he cant be that good if he cant get in the leeds team, spent a lot of his time at wakefield and london and they sent him back and now he's not getting a new contract at leeds, it doesnt say much to me. I'd much rather bring scully home, he's still contracted to us and playing for cas has shown his true ability and its been an amazingly good oppurtunity for him to prove himself; with the players coming in next year and the fit players we have now he'd slot in perfectly. I would love to see Newton back at wigan he is an amazing talent, however i dont see it happening. We have Wagga and Higham although wagga could be leaving, which is unfortunate because hes never given anything less than 100% for us. But if Newton were to come back i would be more than happy and next season you'd think we'd be definate contenders.

Is it just me, or have people forgotten about that little thing called the Salary Cap?
So far this week, Wagga is going to Hull (therefore releasing probably one of our lower paid players) and then in his absence we will re-sign Faz, and also get Terry Back and Senior as well. :conf:

Not forgetting Hape, Yeaman, Feather, Martin Gleason.... And people aren't even considering the possibilities that these players are (mostly) under contract already, and their clubs are under no obligations to release them. Sorry to be a spoilsport guys, but it's not like a supermarket where you can just pick up the player you want off the shelves.

I thought that was why Tesco are sponsoring us?

Sorry a bit O/T here but did anyone think last year when we had tesco on the back of our shirts that it was a bit tacky. I live in Stockport so most of my mates no little about RL and Wigan so they constantly tought my wigan shirt was from tesco :conf:
Tacky or not, if they're putting money into the club then they're more than welcome to stick their logo on our shirts. It was hardly the most prominent logo in any case, I've gotten tired of the number of times people have asked me what it's like working for JJB Sports...

Remember at centarl park when all the Stains fans came along wearing Tesco bags?, well it looks like we will have the last laugh as it seems that Tesco are going to buying part of Knowsley road with some sort of sponsorship deal, so i wonder what supermarket logo the stains fans will have on the back of each others shirts???? Hmmmmmmmm? i wonder.
