On the quick tap topic, I was under the impression that as long as all the attacking players are onside (which they were in the Calderwood one) then it's allowed, despite the defence being offside. Perhaps Rob can clear up that one?

Thats my understanding of it too Geoff. Really disappointed with the ref last night. Just never let the game flow. Very poor.

I agree with everything that has already been said about KK's performance last night. The game was never allowed to flow. What happened when one of our players was put on report i missed it and who was it?

What an absoloute donkey this guy is i was trying to work out all night which game he was watching. Did any one else notice that when ever players challenged him about decisions he stood there and pointed to his whistle all the time - just llike a kid with a toy. the guy was a joke all night and brung the game down to a poor standard. Both teams were tring to play flowing rugby and he just wouldn't let it happen.

Does any one actually know why he dissallowed the first try??? And was dobbo's try a knock on co we couldn't see from where we were at.

i might be wrong as i was watchin from south stand but i think the reason the first try was disallowed was was the ball hit fekas back from the kick accidently offside but what made me laugh was kk waved play on only for the touch judge who was on the other side to pull it up

But like I said this may be wrong.

The descision to disaloow the first try was correct - the ball was kicked against an offside WIgan player before O'Loughlin picked it up = accidental offside nad a scrum, which is waht was called. Perhaps all the posters who thought this was wrong were sitting in the side stands, where this was not too obvious? Maybe a lesson here about jumping on the backs of people before you really know what happened. It was pretty blatent from the South Stand.

I thought his worst mistake was against Catalans when he called them back for a knock-on after the ball had gone forwards off one of their players heads.

He also seemed harsh to rule out their try in the first half - it looked like ti might have been given to me.

Refs always seem to be intermitent to say the least about giving offsides. If anything, I thought he gave to many picky penalties in the first half and wasn't consistent enough. Seemed to improve a little in the second though.

I thought Kirpatrick was OK last night - not good, but not too bad either.

I think the rule is that the tap of the ball must be in the middle of the pitch on the 20m line. I'm not 100% on this but it seems to ring a bell. It was really pedantic of the ref to give this, but he did stop Catalan from doing the same a bit larer on.

This is one of the games I would like to watch again on the tele as I cannot believe that one man can miss so much or even see things that others couldn't, therefore I am sitting on the fence on this one as I felt very frustrated by the man at the end of the match.
