I didn't think it was as bad as it looked - it was his shoulder that hit the head.

Awful challenge Geoff. The fact that his shoulder hit the opponents head tells you a lot. wilkin is a perrenial high shot merchant.

Mind you, that hit that Crabtree put on Hooper. Now he knows how all those kickers feel like when he puts late hits on them

It was only worth watching for the standard of refereeing by Silverwood - who I must say, I thought had an exceptional game.

:conf: Maybe it is me but it seems each referee that gets the final is now instructed not to penalise wherever possible and more. Ganson changed his approach totally for last years final and so did Silverwood today. Personally, I thought he was poor because although he did not interfere when he did he got it wrong, the penalty for a 1 v 1 ball steal, some awful high tackles, cowarding out on Wilkin being sent off and there was an awful semi spear tackle that he should have jumped all over so to speak.

I am a Wigan fan watching the game in a St Helens pub and everyone in that pub said that they could not believe they gave the Lance Todd to longy so it was not just my opinion but the opinion of every Stains fan in that pub, i think that Wilkin was a better choice of Lance Todd winner than Long, but hey thats just my opinion.

I thought Long deserved it, the only close contender IMO was Maurie Fa'asavalu. Wilkin played well, but should have gone for the high shot.

Everybody is entitled the his opinion and mine is Wilkin, i watched the high shot from Wilkin and the shoulder made contact first, at the end of the day every St Helens fan in the pub said it should have been Wilkin for MOTM so they all can't be wrong can they?.
