You've missed both my 2 favourites off...

Henderson Gill and John Ferguson.

I was at Cas away when ferguson made his deput and the wigan fans were chanting "gilly give us a wave" to him.

After 3 tries they certianly knew his name.

And what about Dennis Ramsdale...

I am lucky enough to have seen Billy B play week in, week out when I was a kid. Pound for pound or any other way you wish to measure it, he is far and awaty the best winger Wigan's ever had. I adore the bloke.

I've gone for Boston, in terms of sheer number of appearances and tries, and just his "presence" on the pitch.

I know Offiah had a better tries/game strike rate, but, as someone else has mentioned, Boston played for us for 15 years!

The big difference between the two was Boston had strength as well as speed - I remember so many of his tries where he left a trail of bodies behind him on the way to the line.
Offiah was class, but don't forget he played in a team that was stuffing everyone week after week.
I know it's difficult to compare players from different eras, but in my humble opinion I have never seen any player come close to having Boston's ability on a rugby field.

Martin Offiah was great for wigan, i never saw him play live but i have on tape he had geniune pace like i have never seen before. He could break a tackle and then core a 70 metre try he was incredible

It's probably a good thing if you didn't see his final couple of seasons when he was at Salford, a pale memory of what used to be. I remember one game, possibly a friendly we played against them at the Willows, where he showed he could still put in a good straight run down the line. Unfortunately that line was his own 20 metre line, and having taken the ball on his wing he ran all the way across that 20m line straight into touch on the opposite side because the Wigan defence wasn't giving him anywhere else to go!

Offiahs biggest gaff was for GB v NZ. He dropped the ball when putting it down for a try with nobody anywhere near him.

I also recall penalty at Wembley awarded against Offiah for trying to milk a penalty. He went down like a Brazilian footballer! Ref was going to award a pen for the high tackle and ended up giving it the other way!
