I can't believe how unkind you all are.

There was Sean, puting his body on the line by travelling on aeroplanes to and fro across the South Seas, selflessly supping all the fizzy booze that Qantas could offer in order to keep his team-mates away from temptation, and fearlessly gobbing off to all and sundry while rat-@rsed in order to draw the media's fire and keep silly Leon Pryce out of any further trouble.

And what thanks does he get?

No wonder the poor boy's tired.

Had it been for gambling or drinking then fair enough, the fella would deserve all the abuse he gets but it's not for anyone to make out he's a coward.

I can't understand why a player would 'want' to come home from playing rugby league in Australia unless they had a very good reason.

He'll know the abuse he'll get next year from away crowds so surely it would have been much easier to play one more mediocre/poor performance and head home with his tail between his legs shoulding the blame with the 20 odd other players.

Maybe it is something to do with his wife. Maybe she needed his support and he wanted to be there for her? Maybe it was stress/fatigue related (like that cricketer), people react to stress in different ways, some don't handle it as well as others.

Why not. Any scrum half can play when his pack is bossing the game. Long knows full well that is not the case v NZ and Aus. He does not react well to getting belted E.G Terry Newton and when Mason hit him he had a look of terror on his face. Courage is truly how you deal with adversity. Sean Long has never dealt with it well. hence, he is a coward who only wants to play when others are doing the hard work for him. He has betrayed his country. He is a deserter.

No sympathy whatsoever.
how many people have a chance to be paid to do something they really love.
Think I'll email my boss in the morning saying I can't give any more in work so I'm going home (followed by my P45).
A complete disgrace and shows he has complete disregard for his fellow team members.
End of career as far as I am concerned
