I feel we will play Saints 3 times

Or how this for a scenario

We play Good Friday as normal som it has to be at the JJB and we play them in Cardiff hence avoiding the Safari Road sorry Knowsley Road.

Then again who knows.

Do we play Saints 3 times this year? As I recall it, teams finishing 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th play each other 3 times, with one extra fixture, and all the even numbered teams play 3 times, as we finished 8th, we would be in the even section, Saints finished top so they are in the other section.
In which case either us or Saints have lost the home derby game. It also means one team does not have home advantage against the other at any time in the season.

Whoever has lost it will loose out on a capacity gate and will not recoup the cost from the payout from Cardiff.

It is my understanding that the monies from Cardiff will be divided up equally between all the clubs so those with a large home gate who lose a home game are subsidising those that have poor average gates. That of course assumes the event makes a profit....

One of the extra games should be the one at Cardiff whoever it is against.

Wire play Salford 4 times next year because they play at cardiff thus meaning we may play saints 4 times, whch would mean we dont lose a home game.

the article states next year there will be 27 fixtures instead of 28.
when it was 28 you played the other 11 teams twice giving you 22 matches plus you played 6 other teams depended on where you finished in the league the previous season if you finished in a odd numbered posistion you played all the even numbered teams giving you another 6 and vise versa. totalling 28.

next year i can only presume you play each side twice and play the teams that finished in the same odd or even posistion giving only 5 other teams therefore 27 matches.

as we finished 8th (even) and stains 1st (odd) it does look like one of us misses a home derby match.
WE CAN BEAT SAINTS!!!! YOU KNOWS IT!!!!

That's just silly.

There are 27 games next season (instead of 28) - which means the normal 22 home & away fixtures + 5 extra games. Even the RFL wouldn't be so silly as to duplicate fixtures in the extra five games.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is the line up for the Cardiff weekend ...

Wigan v Saints
Leeds v Bradford
Hull v Hull KR
Salford v Wire
Wakey v Giants
London v Les Cats

They need a lot of derby matches to get gain interest to fill the seats or it'll look poor on TV if the stadium is less than half filled.

Yeah to summarise whoever we play on the cardiff weekend we play 4 times so not too lose a home match
We've never played any team 4 times in a regular season. The games start losing their meaning, especially if you play each other in the club and potentially twice or three times more in the play-offs. I'm sorry, but potentially playing Saints 8 times (4 x league, 1 x Cup, upto twice in the play-offs depending on results, 1 x Grand Final) would be ridiculous. People would get bored if we were playing each other every couple of weeks, as has happened often in Scottish football between Celtic and Rangers. You can be the bitterest of rivals, but overdo the fixtures and people get sick of the sight of the other team.
