agree 02 rinman, Hock as usual never stopped trying, O'Carroll surprised me with his commitment, and Barrett is ring rusty but will definitely come good. For what it's worth I thought Lockers was ok in spells. I'm struggling to find anything else from the game that was positive. Fielden I'm afraid to say has been found out. Just like in the tri nations, he was targeted from the start and couldn't cope with it. His confidence is shot, and the Radford debacle hasn't done him any good. Having said that, i think like Nobbys Bradford teams, we will get better after a slow start.

Hello, Don't message here much but,

Watched on sky and thought O'carrol showed Fielden up tonight. He was our best player by a mile. Fieldens bottle is totally gone.
Barrat & Bailey showed touches but were let down by players alongside them.
We are nearly there but a few players need to step up. All the Wire players stepped up for this game and that was the difference.

Thanks

Bill

We were awful in attack, no depth and no runners, if that continues we will make two very good half backs look like amateurs.

All in all, it was a dire performance. The effort was there, but our discipline was terrible. We lacked any sort of spark and were way too easy to read. I know the weather was cack, but I was hoping to see signs that our flat predictable attack had been worked on, no signs of that at all.

Maybe I'm being negative, but these are my feelings at this moment. Lets hope we see some improvement.

Fielden really needs to start trying to run through the line instead of stopping and trying to bump players off. It didn't work in the Tri-Nations, it didn't work in the friendlies and it didn't work tonight. If he keeps stopping as he hits the line, he makes it easy for the defenders, they just force him back every time, as we saw again tonight.

They look bad but that is always going to be so early doors. Barrett looked intelligent and classy in part. Just to give you an idea of how simple some improvements are that can be made. Remember Pryce trailing Long on the inside v Hudds and scoring, Barrett gets tacklers going for him, a trailing runner say an Ashton taking inside passes with have a field day. Leulia was pretty awful tonight but he looks like somebody you need to create a system with in order to give him spece to work in but runners around him but not hitting the line immediately.

Bit crazy but had Barretts chip and regather stuck thats a try, had Fletch gone right instead of left when he made that break that's another try. Thinking how awful we were and yet remembering we could have won says a lot IMO.

What i can't understand is why when we get near their line, do we opt for Terry Newton style kicks across the floor, the only thing they find is an opposing players legs, lets have a chip over the top at least it creates some pressure

Why I am not sure but they had been practising those kicks pre match so it was a pre conceived tactic. I agree. just read Nobby saying that Barrett and Thomas have only had a week together. It was obvious.

We lost but can get far far better. Warrington got 2 points but may have lost Chris bridge (torn hamstring) and Morley (possibly fractured eye socket) for several matches.

Re Carroll. People are obsessed by size as in tall and heavy but short, barrels like O'carroll are impossible to hurt. Such guys can be really awkward to handle. Shape is important :)

A bit harsh to say Ashton was a complete JOKE tonight. I would give him a rating of about 7 out of 10.

The RL Fans site gives him from 5 to 7.

Barrett and Tommy wern't the problem at all. It doesn't matter who the halves are, there should be runners/dummy runners for whoever is at halfback. They simple wernt there, just more one man rugby like we've seen for the past 3 or 4 seasons.

Chris, to get fluent attacking rugby requires practice, repetitive practice, players knowing in their sleep where they wwill be for each tackle in that set. Tonight, the halves did not know where they should be and nobody else did. It will take time.

I personally thought you could see Barrett has that bit of extra class compared to run of the mill halfbacks.
