Sorry Kaii find it hard to agree with him having respect for the club if he goes. how can you sign a 5 year contract back out after 2 and warrant respect. If you want to talk about loyalty and respect look no further than Pat Richards a true adopted wigganer.Kaii wrote:What ever decision he makes I'll still respect him since it's obvious he has a ton of respect for the club and in a ideal world he would of stayed, just a pity the greatest sport doesn't get the respect it deserves. If he joins the nz warriors I'll buy a top with his name on if he stays I'll buy a top with his name on

Did you really think that the 5 year deal would see Sam stay for the duration? The '3 year clause' was a bit of a giveaway. I'm surprised we managed to get another 2 years out of him after Joel sold his soul to the devil!keptinthedarkfans wrote:

Yes why not. What I think is if Sam is the person he wants everybody to believe he is would honour is contract to the club that made him into the player he is today. Also 5 year contracts have a 3 year clause this no give away as I would think it is standard in 5 year contracts.Kittwazzer wrote:Did you really think that the 5 year deal would see Sam stay for the duration? Sam has told Sky Sports now!
Wigan star Sam Tomkins: I haven't signed deal to join NRL club
Sam Tomkins has told Sky Sports News that reports he has already signed a deal with an NRL club are wide of the mark.
Super League's Man of Steel has long been linked with a move to New Zealand or Australia, where his England team-mates Sam Burgess and Gareth Widdop are already based, and makes no secret of his admiration for the southern hemisphere competition.
Tomkins' former Wigan team-mate Thomas Leuluai returned home last year to join the New Zealand Warriors, and some reports from the country claim a two-year contract has already been sorted.
But the England full-back, who helped his side thrash London Broncos in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at the weekend, says his whole focus for now is on Wigan's pursuit of both the Grand Final trophy and Wembley glory.
"There's a bit of interest, Tomkins said. "But I've not signed a contract with any NRL club, I'm firmly concentrating on Wigan.
Rumours
"I'm aware of strong rumours I'll be moving to a few different clubs, but I can say hand on heart I've not signed any contract yet.
"I've a good friend Thomas Leuluai who plays at New Zealand Warriors, and Sam Burgess and Gareth Widdop are over in Australia.
"I've spoken to them since they left, so it's not like I'm just speaking to them now to get an idea of what its like over there.
"But they love it, and there is certainly an attraction to the NRL - it's a tougher competition than Super League, I think that's fair to say, they've got a consistent level right through the league which attracts good players.
"But Super League's certainly not to be left out of that, we've got a great competition and some great teams that have been battling it out all season."

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

He can't win he probably gets asked all the time and he's just made it clear his focus is on Wigan only, can't ask for anything else

Correct, and time that some give it a rest now that we are in a final and the business end of the season.Kaii wrote:He can't win he probably gets asked all the time and he's just made it clear his focus is on Wigan only, can't ask for anything else
