Re: Matty Smith and Saints
I love Tommy to bits but please this has an air of last seasons "now Sams back everything will be alright"talk I saw and heard,it's a big ask for any player to return and reclaim their former glories I'm struggling to think,in recent history, that's hit the heights of their previous time at Wigan.
Still anyway I expect we fans should be told one way or another regarding Smith this week surely to give him a decent send off.

yup another season of a player that in all account if they had played vs widnes we could have been walking away with the LLS.old hooker wrote:Another season of Smith omg.
the same player that dispite us missing both O'loughlin and Tomkins last night the team still looked organised and effective *dispite Cat being poor*
if smith does leave we will not be better off for it in my opinion

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Leythers have signed Glen Stewart from CatalanPanchitta Marra wrote:Could Smith be on the Leyther's radar.
Tommy in the halves with Williams is good for me, we just need a decent goal kicker now.
If TL & GW are our halves, and Micky Mac recovers to full fitness, it's difficult to see where jake Shorrocks will fit in especially with Sam Powell playing so well this year. Can Sam Powell kick goals?

Does the same apply to Budgie?fozzieskem wrote:I love Tommy to bits but please this has an air of last seasons "now Sams back everything will be alright"talk I saw and heard,it's a big ask for any player to return and reclaim their former glories I'm struggling to think,in recent history, that's hit the heights of their previous time at Wigan.

A few man Utd fans I know always mentioned about the amount of goals that Andy Cole scored for them, but the more critical fans said yes that was true, but how many of those goals were to win matches when the pressure was on. He'd perform top drawer against poorer opposition but seldom turned up when sides were pressing.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:Best game in a long while tonight.
This reminds me of matty Smith.

Matty Smith's drop goals have won us any number of games this season.
Glad he got the MOM last night well deserved. Noticed when it was announced he got a good round of applause from the crowd.
It isn't up to Wigan to announce his departure, custom usually is the club making the signing and who the player is joining make the announcement, not the club he's leaving.
That's usually it but certainly not always.

Who knows what we will get back with Budgie,i'll say this thank god for Madge otherwise his sojourn down under would have been an utter disaster.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:Does the same apply to Budgie?fozzieskem wrote:I love Tommy to bits but please this has an air of last seasons "now Sams back everything will be alright"talk I saw and heard,it's a big ask for any player to return and reclaim their former glories I'm struggling to think,in recent history, that's hit the heights of their previous time at Wigan.

I stand by what i say,not a single player has come back as good as before they left,i hope with Budgie he is the execption.

Is matty Smith definitely leaving us, been so many rumours re-sintelins etc, I'm losing touch of what's rumoured and what's happening.
