Why would you put Powell 13?

We already struggle to make yards as it is.
Because he’s a tackling machine, has a good pair of hands and a decent kicking game given he’s an ex halfback.

IMO he’d be a better 13 (more traditional) than a 9.

There isn't but you need to be able to make yards or you lose a forward.

Powell would make barely any yards taking hit ups. He won't even take a scoot from dummy half for christ sake.

Hastings at loose would be a better option but why move him from a position where he is one of the best in the league to one where he will waste a lot of energy tackling and taking hit ups.

Based on our current squad, the best way of doing it for me is.
1 - Play traditional first and second reciever
2 - Use fullback as 3rd option when needed
3 - Prop forward or second rower at loose
4 - Identify some of the forwards who can take ball to line and pass back to help create space (Byrne and Partington do it fairly well)

Ball playing loose is a luxury but not a pre-requisite to success.

An extra ball player will put other players in gaps and players in gaps make more yardage…… i agree about powell not making yards though….. he would inly be there for his defence, which isnt enough for me

I just don't see how an extra ball player helps solve our problems.

Smith and Hastings should be more than capable.

Adding a half in at loose reduces the number of players you would be looking to put in a gap.

George Williams will 99% be a Wigan player upon his release from Canberra. He has given his word to the club he will sign the long term deal offered.

Major factor in this happening was Warrington’s inability to offer an immediate transfer.

As always ddtftf was correct. He would of signed for Warrington had he of been released at the end of this year. They blew us out of the water ££’s wise.

If for whatever reason this does not happen. Then he has gone back on his personal word to the club. I was told yesterday to expect a nice start to the weekend. So hopefully we hear something tomorrow.

According to Carney a big announcement to be made by wire in next few days. Is Carney stirring or in the know.
