Looks like i`ll have to try and buy one tomor, then i`ll end up with 2 when the other eventually comes in the post! Or do without :(
nobby's girl, theres a postal strike, today, tomorrow, monday and tuesday i think.

greedy so and so's. im waiting for a letter for a job at barclays so i can get a start date, and these lazy friggers are sat on their rears round a fire demanding higher pay.

pathetic, i hate the postal system

Unfortunately the fact that lots of people hate the Royal Mail and are using alternative postal services is one of the reasons the Post Office are trying to use as justification for getting rid of jobs...

I think they are right to strike, this constant downsizing of what is such an essential service is not really good for customers or the staff who are made redundant, but as I said elsewhere I think they should be limited to 24 hour strikes to not disadvantage the public too much, who are not really in a position to help them with their dispute. These two 48 hour strikes are effectively an entire week because of the weekend, and that's just going to make people angry. It's bad enough that I'm ill on my birthday without having to wait a week for my birthday card (I'm hoping to get one...) because of this postal strike...

They are not demanding a pay rise its all about working practices. Sometimes you have to stand up for your rights

My slightly Capitalist-AnL-Marxist thinking is that:

There is a job on offer
The job pays x amount per annum
You take the job knowing you will get £xxxx per annum
You shut up and do your job
if you dont like it, leave

simple.

does my head in.

Then they change the rules/hours/wages after you've started.

I'm very anti-union in general (having lived through the sixties/seventies when the unions were all-powerful - until Scargill & co self-destructed), but I do think they have a case in this instance.
