The sensible way to handle this is to keep it quiet and do the deals behind the scenes. There is nothing to be gained by putting it all in the public domain. All that would achieve would be to open the club up to more scrutiny just when the season is about to start.
While Hock is injured, the whole situation may blow over. even if it doesnt and Wigan have to offload, quietly behind the scenes always gets the best results.
Imagine how players looking to joing Wigan would react to IL putting Hocks situation in the press on a daily basis. By staying silent, we respect the players privacy.

Dont usually join forums but the Hock saga is something that needs to be explained by the club. The speculation being banded about including a fall out with Wane.If this is to be believed. I have 3 questions that should be asked
1/ Why was Hocks number taken from probably one of best second row forwards in sl.
2/ Is this a Club related matter or just a personal fall out.
3/ Who came to the conclusion that it is Hock that has to go.
Before any body jumps down my throat I am not sugesting Wane should go Just someone at the club have the gaul to stand up and tell the truth about this saga. Because from my angle there is something seriously wrong when a world class player can be farmed out to a club over a fall out with a coach Players row with coaches on a regular basis and even on occassions fought.so this does not add up.If roumors are to be believed Hock is being stiched up like a kipper because of his past mistermeaners. Rant over.

SW is introducing a few club rules this year, one of them being that players and their partners/families will go out for meals together band socialise after games and on occasions, Hock wants nothing to do with this as he wants to stay away from the going out scene, this is a minor point amongst others that is causing a stand off! Unfortunately a p1ssing contest is in action and neither is willing to compromise or back down.

Making a rule that thou shalt enjoy yourself with ones colleagues whether you like it or not is daft.
I can understand attendance at club organised events such as end of season presentations or events with sponsors and so on being mandatory but this?
If Hock has his reasons for staying away from these social events Wane needs to listen, not just lay the law down.
If there is a stand off on something as trivial as this IL needs to butt in and stop this silly business.

Like I said Dave it's 1 of a few reasons why they aren't getting on.
It's a p1ssing contest and neither party is backing down!
Your right I feel in that IL is the key to solving the situation either way.

Had a quick look it is bad but stupid as well. Was wondering how you came across it(it being on the Wakey board) and then saw a poster off here had replied so maybe he alerted you. Either way to much time on your hands
