It's a fair suggestion but they've all been tagged in SW's mind. Just waiting for Mr T to play full back when he picks 17 props! :D

I've been thinking that myself, he understands the game so well he could be worth a game or two at 6. He is a little small for a modern centre as well but makes up for it with ability.
we never tried Inga, connoly or carmont there so why Gildart?
I wouldn't have thought any of those three would have made a good 6, Gildart might?
why not? all have pace better defense and better hands than him

Brilliant idea. Move the only centre we have at the club to half back. :eusa17:

Possibly, I should have underlined and highlighted the words "long-term."

many centres walk the line between halfback and centre, the positions possess a lot of similar qualities. Powells fairly solid in defence he has ok pace and ok passing, he doesnt have many brain farts either.
The problem being he doesn't have okay pace. He's far too slow for a centre.

Williams on the other hand could probably play fullback, centre and loose forward as he's got pretty much everything to his game (not that he should be playing anywhere other than in the halves for us).
I wouldnt say he is far too slow, he's not the fastest for sure but i would say he's average pace for a back, you dont have to be mega fast to be a good centre - it obviously helps but id rather have a player who can pass a ball predictably than one who is fast if they are my only options.

In all honesty, average is a the perfect way to describe Powell. In my opinion he wouldn't be in any match squad for me and offers little, apart from effort and toughness, which our Coach thrives on.

I would see him as a third choice hooker and a replacement half back and never a centre, but its all about opinions.

Even with this clamour of MM possibly leaving, Powell, I am pretty sure wont make the starting hooking role. that will go to TL.

Wane would be nice again saying IMO he's the main problem.

Of course we are all wrong to criticise these players and the coach, lets say how wonderful they are, pat them on the back and say well done so that we can finish out of the top 4, win nothing and play boring rugby again in 2018.

I'm as underwhelmed about the club's handling of Sarge/Gells/MM/FPN as anyone, but I'm still looking forward to the start of the new season. Everyone starts with a clean slate, after all.
