If Gleeson has signed it makes both coaches out to be liers or owners are moving players without the knowledge of the coaches. The question was not hedged. Both coaches said it was a nonstarter,We will wait and see but it is not in the best interest of the club for an outgoing coach to fill the team up with golden oldies that will prevent the new coach doing anything but coax pensioners on for the next fthree years. Roberts , Riddel and Gleeson here for the first three years of the new coaches reign. There will be others with similar contracts I am sure.

I have to laugh at some people on here, first they say Goulding is weak defensively and selfish in attack.. the next minute he is the best prospect since sliced bread!!!

I am sorry but Gleeson is Class, why is it that only him and ellis were being touted for moves to the NRL.(Which Ellis went).

People on here have been saying for years that we needed class centres, we have one in george carmont and now if the rumours are true that Gleeson is to be a Wiganer, we have another..

I hear the cries that we need a prop (I have been saying it myself) but the fact of the salary cap and the transfer market because of it.. is that players in this case arnt always available and when the best players come available you have to snap them up.. otherwise you miss out..

The age old addage of " You Can't Please Everyone" is soo true..

YOu don't want aussies, you don't want experienced class british players, you don't think many of our youngsters are good enough.... Lets get in the real world people!!!

I wouldnt see a problem if gleeson was say on a 2 year contract and goulding out on loan.

People are just worried we are losing a great young prospect who has proved he can play super league level, to somebody we are going to have an a 4 year contract whose form isnt going to get better.

After fielden, cant you understand why ?

A great coach will always back their ability to get the best out of any player

The same can be said for any signing..

Trent Barrett was a similiar age to Gleeson when he was signed to Wigan.

He played for a team in Australia before moving to Huddersfield for 2 years.

As for Darrell Goulding he is far better than Cameron Phelps. Gouldings defence is questionable but he has been working on it, Cameron Phelps can't even get the basics of tackling right.
Thanks MrDave,Me & my Farther in Law couldnt think who he played for before saints.

i believe his defence isn't great but yet he's a top prospect. whats wrong with that? all 'prospects' aren't perfect.

I never said he couldn't improve, it just makes me laugh when people rip him to pieces and feel he is rightly in the reserves and then next minute they are strongly opposed to him being swapped for a world class centre we have been praying for, for years..

Ellis ripped it up this weekend according to the league express. Nobody can deny that Gareth Ellis is quality.. I was just making the point that the aussies don't take our crap.. which shows that they rate Gleeson, as his name was being banded about as a possible aussie target..
