You can have all the muscle and brawn you want but if you play with no composure and less-than-no-brain, you will NEVER be the top team. A rag-tag bunch of brain-dead muscle men. Wane has to take the blame this time.

No matter how tough the game is, the top Aussie teams keep their heads, stay patient and wait for their opportunities. We approached the game in the wrong way and fell to pieces when faced with adversity - not the recipe for beating our deadliest enemies.

Well said Ted, an NRL approach would have butchered Saints last night, instead we are all moaning about another poor loss to our deadliest rivals. Saints are top of the comp, but not a good team - and that is not sour grapes! We had them on the ropes in the first quarter and we were either not patient enough or we did not have the desired level of skill to open the door (we need a much more creative player than Smith). We should have kicked them to death last night, the last thing there forwards want to be doing is traipsing 40 to 50 metres back down field, we should have sucked the energy out of their big guys far quicker. Instead we brought them into their comfort zone by producing error after error in our own red zone! When are we going to learn that there is a simpler and more efficient way to win rugby games?

I agree mate but nothing will change as we have dumb arrogant coach in charge, mixed with players who are not good enough

Well said both of you. Their big guys were nackered in the first half and we should have exploited that with a good kicking game.

I take ZERO satisfaction from seeing Wigan lose, least of all to SAINTS. Results matter to me, far more than some it seems.

Souths led the table for most of the season. Perhaps the loss of Sam Burgess has been the difference this season or has the novelty of a new Coach in Maguire wearing off?

I cannot remember which games it was recently but it was whilst Reynolds was injured and the NRL Stato stated Souths had an identical record to the same stage the previous season.

My guess it would now be slightly worse. However, I also recall Souths getting similarly destroyed by West Tigers last season at a similar point. Wood and Burgess boys including Sam went at it constantly with each other.
