The simplified quota rules mean clubs can sign seven non federation trained players. So on the expectation normally all prospective NRL players will be non fed trained as they will have spent their junior years in Oz or NZ we can have seven of them.
TL came over when he was 17 didn’t he? So if he qualifies as federation trained due to this we could have TL plus seven other non federation trained players.

In 2004, Leuluai signed a contract with Super League side London Broncos as a replacement for Dennis Moran who had left the Broncos to join the Wigan Warriors. He spent two years at the club playing 38 games and scoring 19 tries. Both seasons were affected by injury. In 2005, his season was cut short by a broken ankle[5] while his 2006 campaign was disrupted by a hamstring injury sustained while playing for New Zealand. His contract was not extended and he agreed to join the Wigan Warriors for the 2007 season.

Above link confirms that, as of 9 July 2019, Tommy was classed as an overseas/non-Federation trained player by the RFL.
Can't imagine anything has changed since then. I always thought, based on hearsay, that he was Fed-trained.

Well that’s what it all hinges on as now players are just fed trained or they count on the quota as you can have seven non fed trained players and that is it.morley pie eater wrote:https://www.rugby-league.com/article/55 ... ft-players

So if that article is correct he takes a slot and prevents us signing a. non fed half back, which would include the one from Wakey we were linked with. So who knows which U.K. half back the club is after if IL is serious that we are still after one.
Non fed players are TL, Isa, Ellis, Mago, French, Field and Singleton.
I am starting to think whoever posted TL is going around again so we can sign the Wakey half back next season is correct.
