Hock to Parramatta?
Re: Hock to Parramatta?
IL and SW as did the fans showed loyalty to Hock during his drug scandal seems it stood for nothing if he indeed goes.

I'm convinced he's being forced out. Gaz is outside his comfort zone if he ventures as far as Ashton!spartan wrote:IL and SW as did the fans showed loyalty to Hock during his drug scandal seems it stood for nothing if he indeed goes.

I think he showed his hand yesterday when questioned he said
'i'd like to go but haven't heard owt yet'

I don't think he's clever enough to be deceptive. And I don't mean that in a nasty way!jobo wrote:Kittwazzer wrote:Interesting that Hock got MoM. Presumably they had to find some way of getting an interview?![]()
He did surprisingly well in the interview don't you think? For all of his off field faults, dishonesty isn't one of them.

I suspect that words were said to Millward about him giving it to Sinfield against Wales when Hock was clearly man of the match in that game.

Re: Hock to Parramatta?
By the look on his face on Saturday he looked as though he would be happy to try the NRL, but for how long he could hack it down under could backfire big style on Wigan Warriors.
If he returns to blighty after only 12 months out there I fear there will be no elegance to this club and then we face opposing him. Not a happy thought.
IMO, Hock will be found out in NRL, there are players who will just go out to wind him up, players who are as hard as he is.
Is money an issue at the club with Hock put in the window, or is it a personality issue with other players ?
Gareth Ellis would have been a suitable replacement for Hock.
Was an offer not made for Ellis and if Hock was being pushed out then why not.
Was speaking to a bloke at work today who told me a story about Gareth Ellis where Willie Mason was putting word around that he was going to do a hit job on Ellis. The coach at Wests Tigers caught wind of this and forewarned Ellis who hit Mason fair and square in a tackle and put Mason clean out of the game.

There have been all sort of rumours flying about but really if the club wants rid for any reason it should simply sack him.Panchitta Marra wrote: Is money an issue at the club with Hock put in the window, or is it a personality issue with other players ?
If instead it tries to sell a player who has stepped out of line sufficiently for the club to want him out then it makes it very difficult for itself.
First of all it can't say "He committed X offence so we decided to sell him". It will have to cover that up or could hardly demand a big fee and who would want to buy the player?
It would also just look to the fans the club was selling one of its best players who was under contract once again. Whereas if it sacked him because he'd done wrong the fans would probably go with that and accept that though his loss is a blow we can't have nutters in the side etc.
Is it worth covering it up for the cash? Not if fans stop renewing season tickets because they are fed up with the club selling its best players to whoever asks..
When you look at it like that I think it is very unlikely the club instigated the move for disciplinary reasons. I think it's far simpler - Parra made an inquiry and things have gone from there.
Why would we sell at all when the club clearly has money for transfer fees available so isn't poor? God knows.

I don't think there were any issues at the time of the Ellis deal, its something that happened since. We were aware of the spat with Fielden, I'm beginning to think that was the tip of the iceberg. Thinking back, wasn't he unexpectedly absent from the team for some games at the end of the season?Panchitta Marra wrote:

Re: Hock to Parramatta?
absent for one game becuase he apparently failed a fitness test and this is when all the Fielden scrap stuff came out as well as the others rumours of him getting up to much worse. Maybe the only story that was behind the rumours was that an offer had come in from the Eels but people heard the owrds hock and rumour and got 5Kittwazzer wrote:I don't think there were any issues at the time of the Ellis deal, its something that happened since.
