Bums on seats, the big problem, you can have a daddy warbucks stroll through the door splashing the cash left and right as Marwan did at Salford and be met with the same reaction he has had this season at salford,no one turning up for games,i think and again history does back my view up with this there isnt the fan base down in London for Rugby League, and if a "daddy" comes along investing his cash then you can bet your bottom dollar he'll want a return sooner rather than later.
35 years is time enough to put down roots, maybe they ran before they could walk, but surely by now you would have thought the game down there would have been in a much better posistion than it is.
Perhaps there is now a even less rugby fan base in London seeing that it is now full of more and more non interested foreigners and the 'cockneys' have moved out to towns in Essex, Kent, Surrey etc with many now just travelling in on match days to watch the football team they support.
Even London Wasps RU now play at Coventry.
Sorry for the multiple posts..
I dont follow union at all but why did wasps move out of London?it did puzzleme that move.

They say the tickets & coach will be available from Tuesday afternoon & then suddenly change their minds without warning or notification & they are on offer in the morning.
A lot of regular AWAY ST supporters may end up being disappointed if they don't know about the 'Early Ticket Release'!!
The whole thing is unprofessional, it's all about massaging ego's and ending up with egg yolk all over the place.
If there's 8000 ST's, and I'm stabbing there, then 85% will be disappointed from the onset!!
Still, after more than 35 years they're still :eusa17: and that's what matters!!

Just got mine. I wonder whether Leneghan may provide more than a 1000 free coach tickets just to get fans down there.

Rather than 'foreigners'. Indeed, Bermondsey is still nearly 70% white British, but the old working class community has shrunk.
Id say that Millwall FC have a traditional London community of around 100,000 odd left to draw upon, out of a population of 600,000 odd.
However, perhaps Rugby League would appeal to these middle class professionals? Trouble is, they soon move out when they have kids.
Surely, and again Hi great to see you here,it would be Union would attract the middle classes as they've more than likely had some exposure to the sport in university?
Well, my reasoning was that their exposure to Union may make them more inclined to make the cross over to League...not in big numbers...but being young, rich and looking for leisure activities they are probably more likely to give it ago than where we draw our bedrock support from in the area - the housing estates etc.
Also, some of them will be from the north.

I have to say it is not about massaging a particular persons ego. The ego massaging will be on London / Southern businesses as part of the London business club that the club recently created.

Got tickets in block 16 row B. Im super p!ssed off though as normally my 3yo son get in free for all home games, yet this one he has to pay the concession price. The money doesn't fuss me, however not only can i not use the travel (I'm 45mins south of wigan) I now also have to pay for him to get in at a home game - brilliant
