Wigan tried to sign GE!Panchitta Marra wrote:By the look on his face on Saturday he looked as though he would be happy to try the NRL, but for how long he could hack it down under could backfire big style on Wigan Warriors.
If he returns to blighty after only 12 months out there I fear there will be no elegance to this club and then we face opposing him. Not a happy thought.
IMO, Hock will be found out in NRL, there are players who will just go out to wind him up, players who are as hard as he is.
Is money an issue at the club with Hock put in the window, or is it a personality issue with other players ?
Gareth Ellis would have been a suitable replacement for Hock.
Was an offer not made for Ellis and if Hock was being pushed out then why not.
Was speaking to a bloke at work today who told me a story about Gareth Ellis where Willie Mason was putting word around that he was going to do a hit job on Ellis. The coach at Wests Tigers caught wind of this and forewarned Ellis who hit Mason fair and square in a tackle and put Mason clean out of the game.

Anyone clarify what is actually going on ?
Has folau signed at the eels as i was of the opinion this was the eels deciding between hock/folau ?
Of is this a massive PR stunt by the club ?

Who is 'GE'?? :conf:shaunedwardsfanclub wrote: Wigan tried to sign GE!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Hock to Parramatta?
Hock is NOT going to Parramatta. The Folou signing has put the mockers on the deal!
Re: Hock to Parramatta?
There is a post on rlfans from someone who seems to be in the know saying the deal has collapsed. No reason why given.Kittwazzer wrote:Hock is NOT going to Parramatta. The Folou signing has put the mockers on the deal!

Stuart: "Folau's our key target
Pirtek Parramatta Eels head coach Ricky Stuart today fronted the media to answer to all the speculation that surrounds Israel Folau’s future, after yesterday announcing he was quitting AFL.
A local Western Sydney junior, Folau is yet to make a decision on his future in football, code or club. Although Folau has not made it known to the media what code he will be playing in season 2013, Stuart is confident that it will be rugby league and it will be at the Eels.
“It’s a great thing for Rugby League that Israel Folau is coming back to Rugby League.
“Really for us, we’re fortunate, fortunate of the fact that he’s a Western Sydney boy, he’s a local product, he’s grown up in the area and I just see it as being a great fit for Parramatta.” Stuart said.
Stuart is confident that Folau will be able to adapt back to the playing style of ‘The Greatest Game of All’ swiftly and easily, and with a full pre-season under his belt will realize even greater potential in the sport.
“He’s young enough, he was a representative player, he achieved so much in the game before he’d left… He’d won Grand Finals, played (for) Queensland and Australia… He hasn’t reached the pinnacle of his career yet in Rugby League.”
