On the BBC News that Airbus UK have written to all their UK employees advising them of the "Risks" on the UK leaving the EU.
That's 16000 directly employed plus 400 firms employing another 100,000 people in the UK supply chain.
Airbus stopped all new investment in its UK plants when the announcement of the referendum was made until the decision was known.
Having Airbus in the UK is and always has been an EU political decision.
Leave the EU and Airbus will be shut down in the UK and production transferred to France, Germany and Spain.
That would be devastating if they left the UK.

Who's behind Airbus Another political backers threat . Who's to say they are not going to do that anyway. This could just be the smoke screen they where looking for. Like to bet they will shut down in uk if in or out. Germany and France have been dictating our economy for years From Farming up to Aircraft.

Naivety of the first order there Dave. Gordon Brown did not allow us to join the Euro because Blair wanted to. If Blair was against the Euro Brown would have had us in faster than Jack Rabbit.
Saying Brown did it out of spite is a new one on me but whatever, why we didn't join the Euro and why the Greeks did has nothing to do with whether we should be in the EU or not.
Or indeed Germany whose deficit was well above the 3% limit but their figures were wrangled to get the Germans on board.

It might suit Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin for the UK to leave the EU, so what does that tell you about the twerps who are going to vote for Brexit?

If we vote out, Scotland will leave the UK, quickly followed by Wales, and Little England will left alone. Scotland and Wales will remain part of the EU, and England will become an economic wasteland. Only an idiot will vote out.

So BREXIT = Bloody Ridiculous European Xenophobia by Ignorant Twerps
I would be quite happy to see the whingeinbg Scots go. Our deficit would be reduced by £7 billion straight away.

When did Gordon or Tony tell you this Ian?
If you can tell me one thing they agreed on I would be surprised Jobo.

The French have tried twice over the past years to get the UK Airbus shut down and transferred to Toulouse.
In both cases the German, Spanish plus out own Gov't stopped their plans dead! The reason is that it is an EU political project as much as an Industrial one.
However, Airbus have already stopped all new investment in the UK plants until the outcome of the referendum is known.

The referendum outcome has nothing at all to do with Airbus stopping investment in uk. They have been saying for a long time that they where going to invest heavily with China and USA. They have also said they would not pull out of England regardless of Eu vote. So they change there tunes to suite the fiddler.

Airbus are investing in China because of the growth of the airplane business. Who knows what will happen now.
As for opening plants in the USA. That is in direct competition to Boeing in Seattle.
Those two countries are and will be the biggest users of airlines. Airbus is looking at growth of their business which has nothing to do with cutting back in the UK.

Toyota said three months ago that they would stay in the UK whatever the result of the referendum. Two weeks ago they issued a very cautionary statement saying almost the opposite.

Both Toyota and Airbus have been building their businesses in the UK for decades. Their investment has increased, their production has increased and their labour force has increased. The only thing that will stop this is voting to leave the EU.
A Leave vote will change eveything for everyone.
Never mind what the experts in the Tory press say, they are not remotely interested in people losing their jobs. As for Farage being described as an "Independent" view on the EU. that's a good one that is!

All that we do know for certain is that if we vote to remain then firms like Toyota and Airbus will remain. Their businesses will continue to grow as will their investment and workforce.
If we vote to Leave then no one knows for certain what will happen, especially the Leave campaigners

Sorry Ted but that is not true. Nothing is certain. especially as I said with growth in china and USA. It's a brave man who says he is certain Airbus will put more money into uk. seeing as they have already started to curb back uk spending.

I didn't say Airbus would put more money into the UK rather than China and the USA.
If we vote to stay in the EU Airbus will stay and continue their investment in the UK.
If we vote to leave then Airbus reckon there are "risks" which many feel is very much an understatement.

The "Leave" campaigners should already have been to Paris and Toulouse to talk to Eads and Airbus to secure the UK plants and be able to re assure employees that their jobs are safe whichever way we vote.
Sadly they won't or can't give that reassurance
