there was also an interview on Wigan TV where at the end of it he stated Its going to be a good place to be around for the next couple of years or words very similar. I cant remember which game it was after, I will try to find a link now.

Just seen the reports of them offering him a deal

Absolutely gutted if this is true, it will probably move pretty fast if he has been offered a deal, Josie alluded to something on another thread about knowing a situation that may soon change, I personally believe she may be on about the NRL offer & the fact Wigan have reacted and offered French improved terms….. If this is the case then it almost certainly will impact on KPP & any potential move for Luke Thompson. I don't see how we fit Bateman, Field, French, Thompson & KPP all under the cap.

Is there any legs in the Thompson deal? I read contrary by someone close to his family.
Also I thought KPP had a year left on his deal and is going to Newcastle the following year? I wouldn’t imagine he’s on a big wage now and if I’m honest I wouldn’t offer him mega money anyway, not currently, he’s certainly got the potential to be a top player but he’s not quite there yet imo.
French going is a sickener, a couple of months ago I was kind of in the camp that his money would be better spent elsewhere, certainly another centre or two but the last couple of months he’s been brilliant and something you rarely see in many players that have graced Superleague. What makes it worse is Newcastle fans don’t seem to want him or at best are not overly fussed.

All I know on Thompson is we earmarked him as our main target for 2023 pretty much as soon as the new coaching structure was confirmed, I've said from the off the plan was to go big for 2023 on recruitment, Thompson is aware of our interest and we have held some conversations with his reps, we have not been put off or rejected as of yet.... there are rumours that he's spent some time at Robin park as recently as last month. As far as i am aware it is a possibility we sign him. KPP will be on more money next season (if he stays) due to the amount of appearances he's made this season triggering a clause. There are strong rumours however that he is of to the NRL at the end of this season

Doesn't Kalyn Ponga play FB for the Knights?

Knights won’t move their bets player to accommodate bevan French. I’ll be surprised if he starts. They’ve probably got him on peanuts as well knowing how desperate he is to go back
