We have yet to receive confirmation from the Kremlin that he is no longer a Wigan player.
When Lenegan first took over, he asked the fans to ring him if there were issues and not post it on forums. He cited the drunken Tim Smith as an example. Well it should cut both ways. This wall of silence just fuels speculation!

Steve Broomhead, the Wire vice chairman lives near me and drinks at the same cricket club, when we got Gleeson all he said was good luck, he is hard to manage, nothing more.I saw him last week and he said told you so, far too proffesional to kiss and tell,but he was not bothered when he went and he is not surprised by recent events.

Basically he has been sacked but there is the agreement / SMALL and I mean small pay out with a silence clause to iron out. Publically, Gleeson will say he has HAD A MEGA PAY OUT / WIGAN WILL SAY NO PAY OUT.

RL in Britain is held back by a clique of players / personalties feathering their own nests / proliferating propaganada on behalf of each other / offering half baked advice to each other and SCREWING UP BRITISH RL. Madge and a couple of others stick 2 fingers up to that garbage.

I'm confused, wouldn't a silence clause mean neither the club nor Gleeson can say anything?

I assume that this thread will soon be relaced by 'Who are Wigan going to sign to replace Gleeson?'

OMG I hope not. When all our troops are fit, Madge will have a big enough selection headache without the club adding to it. I would hold back Gleeson's chunk of S/C to nail down some more of the reserves!

It's all been kept hush hush because Eddie the fountain of all knowledge Hemmings actually found out that MG was Lord Lucan with a facelift and they are now having to find a new ID for him so he can start all over again.

Silence clauses work in public I guess GP but in private Gleeson will paint his own picture and the truth will be very different from reality. Publically, he will not transgress and Wigan will issue a bland non revealing statement.

On a serious note. Far too many players / families / personalities in the media are so interwined and undermine all and sundry at a host of club. Appointments within the game are very often monopolised by such people and you get a vicious circle of underachievement.

People like Powell at Quins, Madge at Wigan are so vital. Clubs can be broke and destroyed by the trouble the RL clique akin to a mafia creates. IMO, Saints currently face this issue and it is HUGE at Saints.

Why has Dave Elliott so successful as England Academy never even been mentioned for coaching posts.

Our media is so spineless and actually reinforces the control / influence certain individuals have.
