Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Gleeson
if gleeson was to go say at the end of March - how would this effect the salary cap - would it free up April - Nov's wages?
Now I am sure I read a rumour that he contract was staggered over years and he was going to be on £180K a year for the later years of his contract?
Does this mean we will have 8/12ths of his salary to spend this season to replace him or bring in players - could get a good player for £120K

Re: Gleeson
It depends what, if anything, we have to pay him in compensation/severance pay, which I suspect is what all the delays in announcing anything are for.thomo wrote:if gleeson was to go say at the end of March - how would this effect the salary cap - would it free up April - Nov's wages?

Re: Gleeson
Where does compensation come into this scenario.
He is either guilty so get rid, or innocent and continue to play.

Re: Gleeson
He is basically trying to get Wigan to pay him off or to enter a possible protacted legal battle. He has done lots of things wrong but Wigan or rather one person may have overstepped the mark with him in the informal sacking process.Panchitta Marra wrote:Where does compensation come into this scenario.

Incidentally it would not suprise me to see him end up at Widnes.
