Mmm You cannot give a penalty because somebody simply drops the ball. I can jump up and down in front of him at marker as long as I do not place any part of my body upon him.
If referees are going to be so pedantic why do they then allow approximately 50 illegal play of the balls every match. We had a fortnight where you had to touch the ball with you foot now we are back to rolling it between your legs.
BTW Brent Webb has not lived up to expectations
As Brent Webb got up from that tackle he bent his right knee slightly to put it near the Saints players head. Then he raised the left knee. Why would a player do that?
Think about the Saints player, he bends to put the ball down and see in his peripheral vision a knee coming towards his head. That could cause him to think twice about bending down all the way, and the ball is dropped. It happens a lot more in the amateur game. Fielden is also guilty of trying this one though.

Rob referees should take much more notice of feet position. If a players feet are positioned incorrectly and/or he does not swivel his hip as he passes it will go forward. KC cannot swively around his hips/waist and most of his passes are from a virtual stationary position so he has the momentum of a tortoise not a f1 car
Regardless of the feet, if the fingers are facing the touchline or further behind as the ball is released it is propelled legally. What happens after that is immaterial.
The defending team must be onside at the POTB. If by being offside he denies the attacking team an opportunity he commits an offence and should be penalised. Simply by being in an offside position means he has broken the rules.
The dummy half has every right to exploit a player breaking the rules. These offside players then walk back knowing they will not be penalised. Surely the offside player should seek to move at full speed away and not 'hang around' he could roll out of the way in certain circumstances.
How is it that referees expect players to clear the ruck BUT not the area between the ruck and 10 yards?

At a PTB a defensive player (other than the markers) who has not retreated the 10 m is not offside. He is 'out of play' he only become offside when he interferes with play.

...and your lady wife would be correct IF the penalty was wrongly awarded.
Would you appreciate a knee coming towards your head as you go to play the ball? I wouldn't fancy it.
I reckon Klein will get the final... he's had three superb games on the bounce.

:eusa17: And why would you say that? Do you know what goes though player's head during the matches? It is a convenient excuse and, quite simply, advocates that players are "frightened" of getting "hurt" AFTER a tackle
IMO It is the ball carriers responsibility for holding onto possession at ALL times - end of.
