Given their budget, it is not bad coverage.

Done that mate and phoned them as well if you live in the Telewest area of Virgin Media you will not receive channel M only ex NTL customers can receive it.

I personally would like to thank channel M for the coverage. It made my night when there is no rugby on TV,. Sorry, except rugby union, but that doesnt count as real rugby.

Hi everyone

I just wanted to clear a few things up on behalf of the channel regarding coverage. When it says on the website 'free to air' that means terrestrial as apposed to 'freeview' which is digital. Slightly confusing I know. I work on the programme and I also live in Wigan so I understand how frustrating it is to not be able to receive it even though we are in Greater Manchester and on Virgin Media. The problem was that Channel M was available on NTL and not Telewest hence not receiving it in Wigan. I too have been hassling Virgin Media to see when the changeover will take place.

I have now been assured that there was a technical problem with the transmitter (which is at winter hill) meaning that the direction it was facing eliminated coverage to the majority of the Wigan area. The IT department are currently in negotiations to get this sorted, and I have been assured that Channel M should be available in Wigan within the next 6 weeks. I for one will keep checking the progress of this and I will let you guys know when I can get it so that you can all retune your boxes etc.

I hope this helps you all anyway. I would just like to thank you all on behalf of the whole team for the positive comments we have received regarding the coverage of the pre-seasons. The Bradford V Wigan highlights are now on the website for those of us in Wigan to watch!

Thanks again everyone!

Thanks for clearing that up! I still don't understand, though, why the Winter Hill transmitter has anything to do with the cable coverage; surely that would only affect broadcasts?

Look forward to getting it, though, as and when it happens!

I live 2 miles from the mast up' Winter Hill with no 'obstructions' and can't get coverage either. Still I seen what I can online and it seems a popular program, new and different which is refreshing.
