Have heard that the Leeds match will be Trent's last for Wigan!

I actually think Il's commment was harsh and an easy target and I know Noble has not treated Trent (screaming at him on the training pitch for making suggestions) well and used his knowledge (refused to accept offers of help with tactics etc) However, it was Trent that got the players together and focussed post Huddersfield.

Cp well done with Mods vote & Josie too.I have to agree with your comments that IL comments were harsh and directed at a player who has an outstanding talent & who is very professional in the way he conducts himself both on and off the pitch
I am gutted he is going and think he will be a loss that we can ill afford. I think to an extent he has become frustrated/lost belief in what the club could achieve under present circumstances. I personally see having the best player in the competition but not creating a platform for him as a wasted opportunity. Still proud to have seen him pull on the Cherry n White.

Cheers re the modship. Not a difficult job here though IMO. He says lol.

That is my concern Mick, 2 scrum halves and I may be wrong but both prefer the left side albeit Smith is having to play right side.

I agree with most of that. Wasted opportunity.

I tend to think Wigan are a better team than we give them credit for. I posted early on that Barrett was not the answer. (and got slated). While great he tended to polarise the team arround him. We got cut down because we were predictable. Lulu and Smith played well last night and Wakey had no idea where we were going. Look through the league. Teams with one playmaker are middle of the road. Wolves/ Briers. Wigan/Barrett. Wakey/ Brough
Then look at Stains, Leeds. That doubt and direction is what wins games. Maybe we now have that. Playmakers win games. Emphasis on the makers. The team as it stands can rise to the occassion. Fielden said he did not start enjoying Wigan until after the hud game. The team then jelled. Now he is enjoying it. Without Barrett I think the team are happier and more enthusiastic. Bring it on. Player and coach are not seeing eye to eye. Injury is a smokescreen.

Maybe thats why he wants to go home .You posted on here about when in training Barratt suggested moving up in defense and Noble shouted back at him one yard and HOLD IMO this is why we are letting a lot of trys in near the line.

Several players have lost faith in Noble. He has lost the players. However, to some degree what the players have done is formed a pact, them against everybody. The public criticism by IL has brought them together.Long term it may create problems for IL. I daresay he is able to handle that though.

The hold system in defence is a recipe for failure. You could see it in the first 20 minutes. The opposing team are free to move the ball and make yards.

I mentioned this to Joe Lydon a few weeks ago and he more or less agreed with what I said, but obviously couldn't come straight out with a 'yes'.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I posted earlier in this thread about Leeds being Barrett's last appearance in a cherry and white shirt.

Rumours abound that Barrett was asked to drop to the bench to "trial" the combination of Smith and LuLu, Barrett refused and was dropped as a result.
